COVID-19 Client and Staff Safety

Posted by DCA Staff

To our valued clients:

We at DCA are closely monitoring the ever evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in our community and beyond. We are committed to keeping our clients, patients, and staff healthy. We are also currently conducting business as usual. The way our schedule is structured allows us ample time to make sure all public and treatment areas are being sanitized multiple times daily using proper protocol.

Pets are currently not a known risk for clinical illness with this disease but they can carry the virus (just like inanimate surfaces) and there are some exposure concerns.

Please inform us if you are experiencing or have come into contact with someone displaying a fever, cough or respiratory challenges or if you have recently traveled to areas that put you at higher potential exposure risk. We will work to re-schedule appointments or procedures as needed, at no penalty.

Hand washing and hand sanitizer protocols have always been in place, but staff will continue this according to the recommendations. Since our staff is small, please allow us extra time with communications right now. We will expedite all that we can and inform you if there are any delays and advise on how to mitigate unnecessary contact. You may also see us donning extra protective gear such as masks and gloves at this time.

What you can do to help us remain available during this challenging time:

  1. Please print, fill-out, and bring in any necessary forms (ex: new client form, history, etc.). These can be found on our website or via your confirmation email.
  2. Please plan to pay by credit/debit card to reduce contact with money and checks
  3. If you are feeling ill in any way or have had contact with someone that has been exposed to COVID-19, please send a proxy to your appointment and we can conference via telephone during the exam
  4. Please refrain from bringing extra toys, bedding, and blankets from home
  5. We plan to do our best to maintain a 6 foot distance during exams, please limit the number of attendees to 1 adult and 1 pet per appointment (if possible)
